If you were pursuing someone you'd probably want something sportier than an AMC Matador, unless the car you're chasing is actually an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser that's towing a boat. And thanks to the great handling and power of the Vista Cruiser, the Matador was evaded with explosive results. We're fairly sure that this is a clip from the show The Fall Guy, because other than that we're not having luck finding a TV show called Soldiers of Misfortune. Just watch out for that outhouse! Wow! Rare Datsun Convertible! oh Wait....
@Bento:
Nope, pretty sure it was a Toyota...
that sure was a pointless car chase. i liked it.
if i ever make a movie, there will be at least one random car chase. you won't even see people getting into a car, it'll just start and shit will hit the fan.
And it was "The Fall Guy" from 1982.
Must. Do. Work. Now....
and yes, it was a Fall Guy episode.
@Vintage Racer: damn you.
@Vintage Racer: Oh, well not so rare then!
It's a shame any one of these cars were destroyed..... and that poor boat motor.... STOP!
What???? We show "The Fall Guy" and don't show a young Heather Thomas in a cut off T-Shirt????? For Shame!
It is The Fall Guy - [www.imdb.com]
Exploding cars for everyone!
Who knew Will Farrell could drive?
@Bento:
or Markie Post!!
[www.imdb.com]
i wonder what the plot of the movie he was doing the stunts for? and where was heather thomas? no fall guy clip is complete without heather thomas.
Holy sped-up film Batman!
@HansStuckJr: Wow. Tight budget if they could only afford to buy one stunt Matador.
That poor little Toyota deserves a more dignified demise than decapitation/immolation... wait, being 1982 and with Japanese imports increasing steeply, maybe this was staged at the demand of the domestic automakers/advertisers... Hmm...
@BMWCARL: She was in her trailer, most likely with a pile of blow.
@brandegee: They probably geabbed it from the old Adam12 set
Rule of thumb while watching a TV show from the Seventies or Eighties: if someone is driving a ten-year-old car, it's gonna get wrecked.
The rule doesn't work for movies: they have a big enough budget to wreck new cars.
Oh man that was awesome. I mean they managed to squeeze every car chase cliché into just over one minute. Sweet!
Catching a Windows Vista Cruiser however, simply involves starting it in order to catch. Cause it like, won't go and stuff.
Ah man, one more payment and that crap shack was all mine! Damn you Matador!
@LUV_TRUK:
Dude!! That is so 1985 Man!!!
I just spit homebrew through my nose.
How is it that he never even really turned the wheel?
I just expect too much realism in bad TV I guess.
Running through the outhouse and shotgun house with the Matador was great,but the the clip loses points for not scattering chickens (with dubbed-in clucking)when they did.
Markie and Heather were HOT!
Amazing that with all the structures the Matador crashed thru, its hubcaps and vinyl roof remained intact.
The little Toyota was a Corona, probably a late 60s model, which were rather plentiful in So Cal even in the 80s.
@Morphine: Don't give him any ideas - we might want to shut that thought down before everyone tries to bring back Lee Majors's career with the inevitable movie remake.
Love that Colt Seavers driving! Constantly crank the wheel back and forth through about 30 degrees (although maybe that was an accurate representation of driving a Matador).
totally unbelievable. where were the 2 men carrying a large plate glass window at? or the alley full of cardboard boxes?
Hot Windows Vista Cruiser with Ready-Boost action!

Never caught Markie Post on The Fall Guy, but she sure made Night Court worth watching!
That was actually a more exciting car chase than any of the ones included in Sunday's "Knight Rider."
