Roses? Check. Candles? Check. Nice dinner in the oven? Check. Beautiful place setting with automotive theme? Negative. It's a shame you forget the smallest parts of your romantic Valentine's Day dinner, such as the nice plates, glasses and silverware. Help is available, however. Say hello to the gearhead place setting.
Nothing says romance like eating prime rib out of a tire with wrenches and pliers. An included chrome hubcap is just the right amount of shine for the tire—and great for keeping your finely cooked dinner warm as your transport it from kitchen to dining room. Ever drink wine out of a piston-shaped mug? Me neither, but with classy equipment like that, you're bound to get some Saint V's Day desert after the actual dinner is all said and done. How about some tire dressing on that?
I hope that silverware actually works in case you're almost through your Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce and you're suddenly forced to remove the cylinder head of your '76 Honda CB550F for some unforseen reason.
... for the mechanic on the go!
I hope this is available open-stock, because someeone using a set of this probably dines all by themself...
Finally, an excuse to eat in the garage.
cheerios too!
youm youm!
i have a friend who has already done this.... the 'handle' ends of his silverware were too small for his calloused and mostly numb hands to grip... though he still turns wrenches for a living..
so.. the wife's "old flatware" was mated to broken wrenches via skillfull welding... most of them have left and right(intentional) (slight) angles... which make them even easier to grip...
This stuff is lamer than Gawker Art.
Do you have to fill your dishwater with tire shine?
@bzr: ...or put a Triumph back together? [detroit.craigslist.org]
yikes $60!
@Charles_Barrett:
Sorry I missed this thread, because that was another COTD nom!
@SeanKHotay: but reassembling the Triumph won't be unforseen.
I actually have this stuff. It's been out for a while. Obviously I don't use it for family dinners, but it alwasys a hit during backyard BBQs.
@Al Navarro: You flatter me, Sir...! This is high praise coming from a Jalop contributor such as yourself. Thank you.
