Just in case you think the current 3.5L Z-car is a bit down on power, Nissan is said to be slotting the 3.7L V6 from the Infiniti G37 into the next generation replacement for the 350Z. Word is the forthcoming 370Z will now be coming to the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Sources also say that the new Z will be about 4 inches shorter in wheelbase than the current car. At least now we know what all the spy shots were. It's said that the car going to L.A. will be a full-on production model and not a teaser concept. Styling is said to be 'evolutionary' so it will be interesting to see if the Nismo 350Z pictured above was any indication of the styling direction. Big brother GT-R better watch it's back.

awesome... after having seen the gt-r in person at this year's LA show... i hope that i can't believe my eyes every time i catch a 3/4 view of a z on the road... but am always disappointed... hope to see the 370z this november and can't wait to see both of 'em out there on the road!
Sweet! I drove a G37 and it was a fantastic car. But I remember wishing it didn't have all the stupid gadgets from a prissy Infiniti. 370Z will be a track star.
The chin spoiler looks like the car was dropped from a tow truck.
Ohh how I yearn for the original Z again....
Who changed the head lignts on my Targa.
More sexy beast. Excellent excellent!
.. that's not exactly the z370 either.. lol - its the "nismo" z.
I just hope it doesn't just look like a smaller z, that's all i want, oh, and don't make it look like it was molded from a bathtub!
Can they bring an orange one for UDMAN?
I sure hope it doesn't take the Nismo styling cues.
did anyone not see this coming? It's like toyota/lexus 3.0 V6 being replaced by the 3.5 V6. Started with the Avalon in '05, and now you can't even get the 3.0 in any Toyota or Lexus. Camry, Avalon, ES350, GS350, Rav4, RX350, Highlander, etc all have 3.5 or a 3.5 is an option.
eventually every Nissan that used the 3.5 will have the 3.7
370Z... that rolls off the tongue like a dingle berry. Nissan, bump the displacement every so slightly and give us the 380Z!
@POLAR: Oh Polar, you are so droll....
Will "The Woz" be in L.A. to unveil it????
Unless they drop a few pounds whats the difference?
Bring back the 240sx, but make sure it has 90's sports car lines (preferably 1991-1996 240sx/180sx lines)
its got to be light, low, and have a fastback so you can lay bodies in the back.
I was never sure what exactly to make of the 350Z -is it a crude poseur's car? Or a bargain back-to-basics sports car? Driving one was disappointing, but perhaps only because it looks so good. In other words, did the performance live up the presentation?
I don't know, I guess judging by the looks, the power, and the obnoxious exhaust note, I just feel that it should be quicker.
Doesn't need more cubes, needs less weight. I loved my Z but there was no getting away from the fact that it had eaten too many pies.
@UDMAN: DROLAR?
@Hookey: Yeah, I always felt the Infiniti had a better excuse for carrying around so much size and pork. Parked a Nismo Z next to an Alfa GTV and the mofo was at least twice as big. Then the Z ate the Alfa.
Looks like they're taking a few styling cues from the '02 RX7. It's nice though, not as plain as the previous one.
@sweeper240: I so wish that a Silva would make a come back.
Its about damn time they gave this car some more balls. I was about to advocate they send it the way of the Viper.
