Those of you waiting for pictures and details about the 2008 Suzuki Equator can stop holding their breath. Thanks to an enthusiastic Suzuki press team starting their rehearsal, we've got photos of the three (count'em THREE) Suzuki Equator models including the basic version, a miltary-looking off road version and a yellow, super off road appearance package (there may be the utility to back it up, we're not sure yet). From what we hear, these Suzuki trucks should go on sale in the third quarter of this year. More when the company has its actual reveal.

Again, I must ask... Dave? [jalopnik.com]
It looks like a Ford or maybe a Toyota.
This truck is ok, but Nissan already sells it. We really should be getting the X-head: [jalopnik.com] . Between this and killing Isuzu (which has the super competitive D-Max in other markets) I'm really getting tired of the Chicken tax.
Wow, they really got medieval with the ugly-stick on that yellow one.
Take that HUGE S off the grill of the Equator Green offroad edition and I would park it in the driveway.
I don't think it's a bad looking truck at all. If it's reasonably priced and reliable, I can see this selling well.
I like the gixxer-esque paint on the yellow one.
I forgot about the chicken tariff; is there no effort to repeal that?
@FightingChance: To answer the Chicken Tariff, there is no way in hell of repealing it right now, and probably not ever is there is a regime change in DC. I asked about this with the Ford Transit reveal, since Daimler has to import Sprinters incomplete to get around the tax.
Well, at least Europe is still feeling the sting after taxing our chickens. Take that, VW!
The "offroad version" looks significantly more capable than the "super offroad version". Needs more tail droop. And Fred Durst.
Is that a three bar grill? Hahaha!!!
@josch: Cali lean, and take off the front bumper already.
Terrible proportions in the headlights and grill. Maybe it's the Suzuki badge that's the size of a CD case.
This, like the Frontier, seems to be available only with a suspension made for off road driving. Which I will never do. I really wish that buying a truck wasn't as much a fashion statement as a vehicle purchase.
I like this ford rip better then the frontier's schnozz.
Meh. Give it to the hoons in Jersey who had the Sidekick and see how much air they can get. Then we can make an informed decision. The trim is just a wee bit overdone. Looks like a commercial vehicle--lilke for a paintball emporium.
@Novaload: Hell Yes! I can see these trucks flying through the air at the pine barrens.
The Frontier (and now this) have taken the place in my mind that previous-gen Toyotas used to.
Damn...flat green is sexy (and repairable with supplies from your local hardware store).
No details, but if it comes with the 240-somethign HP V6 and rear locker of the Frontier, but a vinyl interior...that'd be a sweet truck.
While the styling is horrifically boring, it does bring to mind a new rule; this takes it in the right direction.
If you're going to be all marketing-BS like and have a dirt bike in the back of your show truck, the bike MUST be made by the same company as the truck.
@austinminiman: The problem is that Nissan didn't make the bike.
i think it looks better than the Nissan version. i like the olive color
@no_slushbox: True; which brings to mind another point. I always confuse Nissan and Suzuki these days. They both matter about equally little to me, and I have a slight lisp, so they are both equally hard to say. Past the Samuri, I frankly don't care.
