Chicago's a truck show — always has been. And we've been told we should expect some seriously fun product, both in concept and in production from the General in two weeks at the Chicago Auto Show. We've already told you we now expect the GMC pickup concept truck to be there and now, according to the embargo-breaking pointer-outers at HummerGuy, it'll be comig to Chicago too. In fact, they've even got the shots to prove it — taken directly from the pages of an early-to-the-stands issue of TruckTrend. Yeah, isn't this a fun game we all play? Jeesh. When will these automakers ever learn not to play the silly embargo game? Anyway, we digress — the 2009 H3T is a Hummer H3 with a 4-feet wide by 4½-feet long bed in the back with accessories like a small lunchbox/toolbox and all sorts of lockable storage containers. Under the hood, expect to see the new 295+horsepower 5.3-liter V8 first shown in the H3 Alpha, as well a 242-horsepower 3.7-liter I5 powerplant. When last we saw the Hummer H3T, it was dressed up in all sorts of fancy diamond camo — now that it's fully naked, what do y'all think? Hit the jump to see the above shot bigger, longer and more uncut. We'll have more shots shortly we're assuming — for now, sate your desires with the camo-covered shots below.

it wouldn't be so bad if you could get it with that full-on freak-out paint job in the spy photos.
Economic downturn? What economic downturn?
Forget the WWI dazzle paint, I'd settle for just the fastback style cap with the spare wheel on top.
I hate to say it, but I am actually looking forward to the CHAMCO pickup.
Give me a simple, durable, small, cheap p-up and I'll beat a path to your door. Does the world really need another not-quite-full-sized, small bedded, v-8 pickup?
Stop wasting my time.
That camouflage has to be the biggest joke. It makes me laugh.
I am intrigued. Possible choice. First time that I would consider a Hummer over another brand of vehicle. But Chrysler is not going to bring the JT to the American market anytime soon.
All the Hummer is short is a nice small V6 Diesel.
"...with a 4-feet wide by 4½-feet long bed..."
Ooooh, a whole 13" longer than a Baja's. Very useful.
All in all, I'd rather do one of these:

It'd probably wind up costing as much but would be a hell of a lot more fun.
@feds: Since Global Vehicles has sealed their fate by aiming the Mahindra at the "low twenties," is the CHAMCO the next hope for a reasonably-priced stripper mini-truck? Maybe I'll set aside our upcoming $1200 loan from the Chinese for one.
I assume HummerGuy.com was already taken by a less-than-wholesome proprietor?
wow, this takes the Colorado platform back to being a Colorado.
See, Jeep?
Will you now bring us a Wrangler-based pickup with a diesel or small V8?
And the ugliness continues...
@badco-fascism:
Hate to cross-blog, but this is pretty well written:

Old 'yota and mitsubishi bits, together at last! I especially like the guarantee of lowest price for 5 years or whatever.
Hummer, like the name suggests. It blows.
God, I hate the whole Hummer Brand. If only GM spent more time on their other brands, then they might have something worth buying. This looks like your typical GM abortion.
This looks quite smart. Unfortunately if it comes to the UK, it'll get the ugly wheelarch extensions and ground clearance and breakover angle wrecking side bars and underrun bar that they fitted to the wagon.
@Euromobile: It might be an improvement. Why spend $40k on a truck that fugly? For the same money, the LR3 looks so much better and more sophisticated than that lump of scrap metal.
@bmrfile: I quite like the look and it might be pretty good off-road, although not in UK-spec. The competition (Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200 and Ford Ranger) are priced substantially lower than this would likely cost, so I doubt it'd get much of a market share. The LR3 (Discovery 3) is a far better car than the H3 wagon, no doubt. The high-spec models cost a hell of a lot more though. That said, what do you need all the bells and whistles for?
Paint is a little busy.
Note to GM:
We think your Hummers are ugly, nasty, obnoxious p.o.s.. They are also extremely polluting and driven nearly exclusively by selfish a-holes with small penises.
Keep 'em off the showroom floors please.
Can't you doing ANYTHING useful, interesting and innovative??? If not, you deserve to die the slow death you're experiencing.
