Pennsylvanian Robert Coulson Lavery figured he had all the details planned to pull off the perfect crime: cover his face with a coat of drywall compound, rob a bank, then make his getaway in a car decorated with a Rusty Wallace souvenir license plate. Unfortunately for Mr. Lavery, a tipster recognized the Rustymobile, which was found with telltale smears of joint compound on the upholstery (cue sound of cell door slamming). [Associated Press]

What about the Joint compound dried to the dude's face?
Using joint compound to get thrown in the joint...
@Charles_Barrett: Where he'll be traded for joints.
That guy is all Caulk and balls...
And its all for $7,910.
I swear I don't understand the point in robbing if you can't get enough to make it to Mexico.
Kurt Busch still can't get no respect, even from stupid criminals.
What a way to go to jail, with crusty white stuff stuck to your face!
Only in Nascar country would you disguise your vehicle like a Nascar fan in hopes that it would help you blend in for the getaway.
If this guy's get away car was a motor home painted red with a big "8" on the side, he would still be a free man.
This guy should share a cell with Warren G. Whitelightning who we heard about a few weeks ago. Then film their cell and make it a TV show.
@POLAR: You know, I was going to say something here about other facial coverings.... but I'll stop now...
this is exactly why i have a NASCAR license plate frame. it's less likely to be remembered by witnesses...
I heard this on the radio this morning. So I guess the traditional ski mask was just too--easy? Good?
Meth is hell.
