Detroit Auto Show: Saab 9-4X BioPower Concept

As part of its Ethanol extravaganza, GM showed off its Saab 9-4x BioPower concept, a preview of a small Saab SUV. Set up with a 2.0-liter four producing 300 hp on E85 Ethanol, and driven by the same four-wheel gear as the Turbo X, the 9-4x is a thoroughly non-Saaburu, sharing a platform with European Cadillacs. Piloting the concept to stage left was a blond-on-blond family of winter sports enthusiasts. It's like they're Swedish, get it?

It still looks Saab-y, so they haven't lost that, which is good. But I defer on this one to our respected Saabaholics, Saabophiles, Saab phreaaks.

  • I am so pleased. It looks better every single day. I am only superlatives right now.

  • that thing looks great... so why cant they make that NOW

  • Oww...my neck has a crick in it from looking at the interior pics...

Altho it's kinda tough to get a sense of its size (everyone but the blonde viking patsy is bending over)...the front end look Enclavish in width...

...It looks a lot Saabier than the Trollblazer. I comment more tho when I see it in real life.

Not really digging the teal graphics in the IP, btw.
