A Car of the Future by a Tape Company? 3M Says Yes

The 3M company of tape and packing supplies fame has teamed up with automotive supplier Visteon to show off this futuristic car interior at the Consumer Electronics Show. The two have reportedly dumped upwards of 50 so-called "innovative technologies" into this interior. Wow, 50 is a mighty big number, though some are better than others.

Some of the reported technologies include a capacitive parking aid — that's the kind that can sense the proximity of the vehicle to other objects — (not quite the Lexus self-park unfortunately), wireless charging for gadgetry, an OLED display and 3D navigation. Not bad. There's also a motion-sensing light that can tell when you're reaching for a map. Ooh, it's haunted! Check out Visteon's interactive site for more of the innovations.
