The engine was fired the day before we went to the track on Friday for test day. A friend and I flew in from KS (taking 14 hours due to weather delays) and met them at the track where we finished tuning the car. After my stint in the car on test day it was spooky loose and I just eyeballed the rear suspension with a string and it had positive camber. We pulled as much negative camber in it as we could and it helped a lot so we were happier.

We ran today from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm, about 3.5 hours in the dark, and starting in 60th or so place have worked our way up to the top 1/2 of the field, we think. We don't KNOW because they aren't posting results because, get this, their printer ran out of ink (seems the Wal Mart 6 miles away might have some of those.......) so we don't KNOW. We do know that after my turn driving (second in line of 5) we had moved up to 44th place. The reason we started so far back was because they docked us 20 laps for spending too much on the car before we went out on the track. We didn't have a problem with that (we were guilty) but there are several cars out there that spent a LOT more than we did and had no penalties. Such is life.
The attrition rate is climbing. One Nissan has been on it's roof (driver OK) and some guys are pretty aggressive, something they said they wouldn't tolerate but don't seem to be enforcing. If not for the penalty laps, we'd be somewhere in the top 10 right now and that's out of 70 teams. I had the fastest lap at a tick over 1:28 on the shortened course at dark, but I think another team member beat that later (fastest on our team, there are much faster cars there than ours).
