It's a shame that it's taken this many years to finally achieve this bit of convergence, but it is finally done. To be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in January is Uniden's MapTrax GPS receivers — that include radar detection.

Uniden will be unveiling an overkill of devices — six new GPS units at CES, some of which will include the radar detection feature. There isn't a lot of detail yet out about the radar detector, but one would expect it to integrate nicely with the mapping software to locate and remember potential speed traps. Other included features are Bluetooth, text-to-speech, night view and we're assuming a selection of other goodies. [Gizmodo]
