The New York Post yesterday profiled a fed up retiree who has taken it upon himself to fight problem car alarms. The West Village resident has, for the last 10 years, taken to papering offending cars with hand-written messages expressing his annoyance. By applying the 18 by 24 inch poster boards to the driver's side windshield with carpenter's glue, Harry Schroder makes his notes impossible to ignore. The Post reports that to-date in 2007, there have been 18,102 car alarm complaints in the city, resulting in 166 tickets. They go on to report that Shroder's methods are among the tamest, apparently other people attack noisily-alarmed cars with urine, smeared dog feces, eggs and paint.
