One of the rituals at the 24 Hours of LeMons race involves throwing lemons (as in the citrus fruit) onto the track, so that the automotive lemons may crush them 'neath their tires. You can buy lemons from some enterprising kids at at a booth in the pits... or you can do what we did and take advantage of a vast lemon tree in Plymsole's back yard and bring about 100 pounds of gnarly-looking yellow specimens. The track guys were nice enough to gather up lemons that survived a roll across the track and onto the infield, so we could throw them a second or third time.
