Front-Engined Tucker Torpedo Could Be Yours!

Who in his or her right mind wouldn't love a Tucker Torpedo to drive? Thing is, the helicopter-sourced rear engine and oddball transmission setup installed by Mr. Tucker wasn't exactly the most reliable drivetrain ever put in a vehicle. So, back in the 60s, the owner of Torpedo #46 (out of 51) figured he'd just tear the running gear out of a '64 Mercury and convert his Tucker to a front-engine design with a bulletproof Ford 390 engine. It's reliable now, sure, but... the pain! In any case, this beautiful machine is now available for purchase on eBay; at the moment, the price is up to 75 Gs and climbing. [eBay]
