This 1970 film is a Sid Davis driver-safety deal entitled What's The Big Hurry? Ostensibly, it was all about scaring the living shit out of teenage drivers, but what it probably accomplished was to get entire driver-training classes to go running straight to Dealer McDope for extra Vitamin L supplements. A surrealist masterpiece, complete with tee-wisted soundtrack by electronic-music pioneer Louis Barron, this film's real meat is the vintage junkyard footage. Benson's Auto Dismantling, located at 7711 S. Alameda in Los Angeles is the setting, and you'll see all manner of banged-up Detroit iron on its way to The Crusher there. Enjoy.
