Porsche Busts Budget on Leipzig Plant for Panamera

Getting into the premium, grand touring sedan-coupe market is costing the flush Porsche s few more Cayenne bux than it had planned. According to Automotive News, the Stuttgartarians are over budget by 25% on an extension to the Leipzig plant that will build the coming car's bodies at an expected rate of 20,000 a year. Assemblage begins in 2008, with a launch of the Mercedes CLS / Aston Martin Rapide fighter happening at one of the big shows that year. The $202 million makeover includes a larger production floor, a logistics center and restaurant-grade refrigerator so Jorg's onion pies stop stinking up Edvard's schweinehaxe.
