A judge in New Jersey has ruled that a man busted for operating an indoor-ice-rink Zamboni with a blood alcohol level of 0.12 percent (Sambuca-and-Valium breakfast, with some dispute about the timing of subsequent beer and vodka consumption) won't get a DUI offense out of it, because a Zamboni can't be driven on public highways or carry passengers. The Zamboni operator, John Peragallo, had been snitched off to the law by a coworker when he was observed speeding and "nearly crashing" into the boards. – Murilee Martin
