The 24 hours of Nürburgring are over with the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Manthey Racing coming out victorious. Drivers Marc Lieb, Lucas Luhr, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas put on a dominant performance beating the second place BMW Motorsports BMW M3 GT by almost four and a half minutes. Jalopnik's favorite one off exotic car, the P 4/5 Competizione managed a very respectable 40th place finish overall. More »

1976 Porsche Racing, Remixed

The guys at Speedhunters have been obsessed with all things Porsche this month. To continue the fun, they got their hands on some awesome footage of Stuttgart's racing efforts from 1976. Of course, they weren't content to leave well enough alone, so they've given the film a modern spin. The result may put off some purists, but you can't deny the ageless appeal of a fire-breathing beast like the Porsche 935 screaming around the track at the 24 Hours of LeMans. Fox has decided to broaden the Ford-centric product-placement universe of 24 and toss some Toyota in the mix. In the fifth-season "bridge" mini-movie that comes with the DVD set of season four, Kiefer Sutherland will run from or be running down baddies in an Avalon. Which we guess is sort of like a modern-day Steve McGarrett-mobile, but not nearly as badass as the top Five-Oh cop's Merc. Jeez...remember when Mercuries could be considered certifiably appropriate rides for badasses on either side of the law? Wha' happen? More »
