It's a sad day for Englishmen and their hounds, but good news for Blighty foxes. According to one Audi executive, the company's scuttled plans to build a production model of its Shooting Brake concept. The official word likely dispatch rumors to the contrary that had persisted since the toothy prototype debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2005. Audi's product boss Ulrich Hackenberg told Dutch car site Autovisie the company didn't want to cannibalize its new TT, with which the concept shares a platform. Expect to see some of the shooting brake's design cues in the upcoming Volkswagen Scirocco, which debuted in concept form at the Paris show last September and will likely hit US dealerships in 2008 as a 2009 model. – Mike Spinelli
