As we reported earlier, Toyota's decided to throw themselves into the fray with BMW's M Division, Merc's AMG adjunct, Cadillac's V people (we hear they bleed green) and Chrysler's SRT-types. And knowing Toyota, they expect to win. Also knowing Toyota, they'll screw it up the first time (see: T-100) and build a series of oddball cars that eventually end up appealing to guys like Bumbeck. A decade later, they'll get it right and blow everyone into the weeds. Reporting from Detroit, Sweet Peet D. pontificates on what it takes to get a performance division right.
