    Spy Photos: Mercedes McLaren SLS?

    World Car Fans — rolling out a spanky site redesign today — serves some shots of a skeletal prototype launched from the McLaren test center in Germany. Spies say this kart will be the antecedent of a new, smaller, $200,000 McLaren to rival the Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari F430. Sources suggest a carbon-fiber body construction, mid-engine setup and three-seat layout (like the erstwhile F1), and the thinking is Mercedes will handle construction. The name? Possibly the SLS McLaren, possibly not. – Mike Spinelli
