Mitsubishi announced it plans to unveil its new Lancer at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit ahead of a North American launch in spring 2007. Judging from a teaser sketch, the new sedan will continue a design direction introduced with the Concept-X — a complete departure from the currently undramatic Lancer — including an aggressive profile, wide stance and long hood. Underneath the skin is a global platform shared with the Outlander SUV and several DaimlerChrysler (Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass) and Peugeot Citro n products.
