    Chevrolet HHR SS Confirmed

    A Chevrolet marketing executive confirmed to Automotive News that the company is indeed planning an SS version of the Chevrolet HHR. While the engine choice has yet to be confirmed, some believe it will get the same 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injection four that'll power the Pontiac Solstice GXP, while others expect the less-powerful (173 hp) 2.4-liter four from the Cobalt SS. The latter engine is the most likely, considering the HHR is built on the same platform as the Cobalt, though we'd hope GM has the cojones to aim just a bit higher. Spies who've seen (and heard) the SS on Germany's N rburgring say that may be likely. – Mike Spinelli
