The Volvo XC90 has been around for what seems like forever. And that's because the car has been basically the same since 2002. Volvo is tired of that, and on the heels of the sexy Concept Coupe, we have our first peek at the next XC90.
What can we tell from these teasery, blurry shots that appear to be taken from a Nokia phone (a bad Nokia phone) in a darkened Swedish presentation room? Not too much. We can tell that it has LEDs, because God forbid a new car doesn't use some for of LED lighting these days.
It does appear to have some of that post-modern retro appearance of the Concept Coupe, which is very welcome since that car is basically the tits as far as I'm concerned.
It also seems like the new XC90 will be riding on Volvo's new scalable architecture, which should mean it's on an all-new platform and not a rehash of what has been carrying the car for the last decade.
We should see the new XC90 at the Frankfurt Show in the coming weeks.
