GM Recycles Gulf Oil Booms Into Chevy Volt Parts

General Motors will be recycling oil-soaked plastic booms deployed in the Gulf of Mexico into parts for the new Chevrolet Volt hybrid. About 100,000 pounds of boom material are being repurposed as radiator air deflectors. Ironic? A little. [Reuters]
