Well, they did it. The first Audi series model to sport an engine derived from that of its LeMans-winning oil burner is on its way, and it's not the A8. You may recall the V12 TDI that embarassed competitors by supplying enough torque to pull one of Abraham Lincoln's teeth off Mt. Rushmore. Now, Audi's revealed it's the Q7 SUV that will sport the six-liter TDI. The common-rail diesel dozen-banger will produce 493 hp and 737 lbs-ft of torque (those numbers look much better in metric — 500 PS and 1000 Nm) in the SUV, which will get a new six-speed tiptronic gearbox (and quattro four-wheel drive). No word on release date or price, but we'd imagine all will be revaled in Paris. Click through for more pics.
