Based on the fact Ford deemed it a "new category of automobile", it appears they were rather proud of their redesigned 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. A power boosting intercooler and "a computer controlled suspension" (complete with idiot light) were added to the quirky four cylinder Turbo Coupe among other updates and improvements. The VW van is a fairly common sight in Alameda, so much so that I keep passing by most T2 Transporters without stopping to photograph them (we've seen numerous T1 buses: 1956, 1957, 1960, 1966, and 1967). I'd been contemplating the inclusion of an early water-cooled Volkswagen van in this series- but still wasn't convinced they belonged- when I spotted this super-clean '87 Vanagon Syncro parked just across the street from the 1957 Cadillac. I'm convinced now; it's Vanagon Monday today!

Last spring, we saw the '87 Yugo GV of Clint, the Evil Genius Racing welder who built the Black Metal V8olvo's roll cage. Back then, Clint had an idea he'd make the Yugo into a 24 Hours of LeMons car... but it was just too nice. We've got a shipping container with a vaguely familiar actress at the wheel of a Citroën BX in Japan. The container opens, the car smashes through a gate, and then it plows through a sand dune.
