1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu

Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. Remember that Malibu you saw parked next to the '74 Duster last week?

Of all the classic GM A bodies, the '64-67 Chevelle is the one I think looks the best (mostly because Chevrolet, as The General's entry-level marque, didn't clutter up the A's angular styling with the gingerbread the other divisions hung on it). That's why I'm always happy to find one down on the Alameda street, though such sightings have been infrequent. We've seen this '65 Chevelle 2-door, this '65 El Camino, and this evil '67 Malibu, and that's it.

It's hard to tell whether this car is a restoration or just a very well-preserved original California car. That's the point, right?
