Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. Finally, 563 cars into this series, a Rootes Group car on the Alameda street!
Some of you may recognize this as Armand's mighty dyno-verified 66-horsepower machine, from the Evil Genius Dyno Challenge a couple months back. Last month, I had the opportunity to ride along on a couple of laps around Sears Point in this fine machine. Not very fast, admittedly, but we got plenty of thumbs-up from fin-admiring corner workers.
Armand was visiting the Island That Rust Forgot, so I was able to convince him to park it in a suitably photo-friendly location. Check out the stamped-bakelite instrument panel!
