Although it's generally accepted the Ranchero was the first of the car/trucks, Hudson produced a more utility based truck using the front sheet metal from their cars in the late 1940s. The result was a unique mixture of car and truck that predated the Ranchero by 11 years. This very original example of a rare Hudson truck is currently on Ebay. <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5843632/rare-and-original-1947-hudson-truck-for-sale-on-ebay/gallery/" title="Click here to read more about Rare and original 1947 Hudson truck for sale on Ebay">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>

When you see "Denver" in the title, you might figure you're looking at more shots by prolific DOTSBE photographer <a href="http://kittbo.blogspot.com/">Kitt</a>. But hold on- now we've got <em>two </em>readers shooting interesting vehicles on the streets of <a href="http://www.salon.com/books/feature/2006/03/10/fante/index.html">John Fante's</a> hometown. We've got Kitt covering the south side of town and <a href="http://jalopnik.com/commenter/ejacobs/">ejacobs</a> working the northwest neighborhoods. He's already sent in several sets of photos, and we're going to start with this International Harvester KB-3 pickup, built during the 1947-1949 period. Looks like Denver is trying to <a href="http://jalopnik.com/346831/1948-international-harvester-kb+2-pickup-truck">match Alameda</a>, one vehicle at a time! <a href="http://jalopnik.com/375976/yet-more-vintage-machinery-from-denvers-streets" title="Click here to read more about Yet More Vintage Machinery From Denver's Streets">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>

<a href="http://jalopnik.com/commenter/dufour27/">Murph</a> sent this in as a possible PCH car, but we think it deserves its own post. You think your '52 split-window Volkswagen Beetle is rare? Ha! How about this super-original <em>1947 </em>Beetle in Allied Occupation Forces colors, which we first saw when <a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/2007-volkswagen-classic/farfegnugen-for-sale-vw-swap-269087.php">the Loverman photographed it at a swap meet last summer?</a> Yes, nineteen-freakin' forty-seven, when shivering Wolfburgers were still hammering together Beetles in RAF-customized roofless factories. Cable brakes, 25 horsepower, the works. It doesn't run, but what do you want for $28,900? <a href="http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=528795">[TheSamba.com]</a> <a href="http://jalopnik.com/364482/looking-for-a-1947-us-army-beetle" title="Click here to read more about Looking For a 1947 U.S. Army Beetle?">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>

I never would have imagined that <a href="http://jalopnik.com/342002/pch-george-w-romney-edition-1970-or-1973-amx">55% of you prefer a Pierre Cardin '73 AMX to a "real" '70 AMX</a>, but that turned out to be the case in yesterday's Choose Your Eternity Poll. Today we're returning to a theme we visited with <a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/choose-your-eternity/pch-aircraft-engine-edition-cyclone+powered-cyclone-or-jet+powered-jetfire-326059.php">Aircraft Engine Edition PCH</a> and <a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/choose-your-eternity/pch-mix+n+match-edition-fun-with-engine-swaps-309040.php">Mix-N-Match Madness PCH</a>: Engine swaps! Not only that, we're going with the two engines folks around these parts most often suggest as swap candidates. See, whenever we look at a really small car, it won't be long before someone suggests dropping a Hayabusa (or two) in it... and a big car? Drop a Duramax in that sucka! So that's what we're looking at in today's sulfur-scented selections... <a href="http://jalopnik.com/342569/pch-engine-swap-edition-hayabusa+ized-honda-600-or-duramaxed-47-ford" title="Click here to read more about PCH, Engine Swap Edition: Hayabusa-ized Honda 600 or Duramaxed '47 Ford?">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>

You know I was reaching for the camera in a hurry when this car loomed into my field of vision. This Plymouth is owned by the guy who has the <a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/down-on-the-street/1954-ford-305938.php">Creamsicle '54 Ford</a> we saw a while back, and I can say from firsthand experience that the copper paint job looks <em>perfect </em> when illuminated by streetlights after dark. The perfect mix of classic Detroit and postmodern irony. Something like that. Anyway, it looks very, very good, and it has suicide doors to boot! <a href="http://jalopnik.com/310694/1947-plymouth" title="Click here to read more about 1947 Plymouth">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>
