Look in your rear-view, VW Golf R32. There's a new BMW 1-Series approaching, and it's not happy about losing to you on last season's TopGear. In a BBC showdown, Jeremy Clarkson chose the R32 as a better value than the still-current top-line BMW 1-Series, the 130i, for reasons of both legroom and sportiness. According to spies, BMW's answer is the 135ti. While it won't see any improvements in the legroom department, it will reportedly get the same 3.0-liter turbocharged mill as the new 335i. Were the hatch to sport all 300+ horses, it would likely take title as the hottest in the land. The UK's Autocar reported earlier this year that the 135ti would debut in 2007 for the 2008 model year. Sorry Yanks, this one's for the continent only.
