The September issue of Motor Trend offers a surprising bit of conjecture in its news/gossip section. According to the mag, Ford's greenlit a new Boss Mustang for 2007, a year before the latest 'Stang is up for a redesign. If the spec image pans out, there won't be any doubt about the car's lineage — with black striping in all the right places, and a reported 5.0 liter V8 (whispers indicate 390 hp) that may even displace exactly 302 ci. The new model will likely be positioned below the Shelby GT500, with an identical suspension system, but will be subject to a weight-reduction effort that could bring it to within range of the V6 model. Boss.
