Mercedes' AMG tuning shop is launching a new performance studio that'll handle special orders and produce limited-edition cars in three series: Signature Series — including DTM supercars — Black Series — uprated and spec'd out versions of AMG models— and Editions — cosmetically enhanced AMG models. The studio's latest product is the SLK 55 AMG Black Series (pictured), promoted as a "purist's lightweight version," powered by a 400hp version of AMG's hand signed 5.5-liter V8. The release says the studio fulfills special requests like special exterior paint, full leather interiors, leather or carbon trim, and cutting-edge audio, office and multimedia systems.
