Some call it a rebadged Chevy Cobalt, some call it a baby Pontiac G6, but GM just hopes the new Pontiac G5 will mean green. The company launched a new microsite to promote the new US entry, which has been available in Canada as the Pursuit since the 2005 model year. The G5 will come with lots of check boxes on its options sheet, including style accents like 18" alloys and brushed aluminum pedal covers and chrome door handles. The 2.2-liter Ecotec mill will be standard, but a GT version will get a 173hp, 2.4-liter Ecotec with variable valve timing. No word on the rumored GXP version with the 2.0-liter direct-injection mill like its Solstice GXP sibling.
