Sweet mother of Adlai Stevenson; the average Buick buyer is 65 years old. We knew the GM brand had an older crowd, but holy smokes; we didn't expect golden years — and that's after a drop of 10 to 15 years on average since it introduced SUVs. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course (65 is the new 50), but it doesn't speak well to the brand's longevity. AutoWeek recently had a sit-down with GM brand manager Brian Bowden, the guy with the unenviable task of dropping that average number by a dozen or so years. How's he gonna do it? Well, we'd put out a line of plastic tricycles; that'd bring the average something like 30. But that's why we're not in charge of anything with a budget of more than three figures.
