GM in Detroit: Rolling on the Riverwalk

Blogger DetroitWonk points out GM's investment in the riverfront area around its Renaissance Center downtown, an act being somewhat spun as environmentally sensitive and socially inclusive — an effort to become better integrated into the downtown community. The company tore down a concrete berm separating the center, bunker-like, from the rest of downtown, and replaced it with trees, ivy, flower beds and, for those who see historic events as metaphor, grassy knolls.

GM may not have the most environmentally friendly cars, but at least they have a helluva backyard! [DetroitWonk]
