Ford is the first of the remaining Big Two to craft a response to GM's year-end Red Tag Sale. The company is launching its own program, called Fuck You GM, during which it will leave its entire inventory parked on the street near a huge sign that'll read, "Free Car. Send Us Whatever You Think it's Worth. Postage Paid." Then we woke up to find Ford had actually announced a different scheme. Its "Keep It Simple Stupid Plan" riffs on GM's "not a penny more" theme by offering a "maximum price" printed on vehicles' window stickers, which is the shown MSRP minus a Simple Plan discount minus any cash incentives being offered. Chrysler hasn't piped up yet, but we hear they have doughnuts.
