Bentley Announces New Convertible Continental GTC

Our favorite hooligan-in-a-waistcoat, the Bentley Continental GT, is getting a droptop (so sorry, drophead) version. The Continental GTC, a 2+2 convertible, completes the Continental model range that began with the GT coupe in 2003 and was seconded by the Continental Flying Spur sedan in early 2005. (It'll also become a new ragtop sibling to the recently announced Arnage-derived Azure.) Like its Continental sister ships, the GTC gets a worked-over version of the W12 sourced from its Wolfsburg parent, along with air suspension and a stiffened body structure. A soft fabric roof and heated glass rear screen turn first frost into a minor disagreement between old friends, while the Continental's pronounced fender flares ad a bit of off-the-shoulder sexiness to the GTC's top-down comportment. Expect the GTC to go in sale in late 2006, at a price that will most likely hover well below the $200,000 mark.
