Ford, desperate to find marketplace traction for its 2006 Fusion, announced it will offer incentives totalling $1,000 on the sedan, including a $500 bonus to buyers who finance with Ford Motor Credit, and a down-payment match of up to $500. While the cars have yet to hit dealerships, Ford nonetheless wants to assure Fusion buyers that even though they're not "family," they'll at least be treated like a sister's friend's daughter's boyfriend who helped her move.
