Bringing Sportscars Across the Pond: A Marcos for the US?

Longstanding British sports-car marque, Marcos, could begin shipping its slithery, old-school rockers to the US as early as 2006. Marcos Owner, Canadian businessman Tony Stelliga says he's testing the market, bringing his personal TSO roadster to the US for his own use, while exploring interest among distributors.

The company currently builds two models in addition to the TSO (pictured), the GT2 coupe and TS0-GT Coupe, which is built and sold in Australia. The cars, which all have 5.7-liter Chevrolet Corvette LS6 V8s under the hood, are engineered with help from motorsports development firm Prodrive and produce between 350hp and 475hp, depending on model. UK prices range from $72,000 to $90,000. We're still holding out for a new, Lotus-challenging Mini Marcos.
