Audi released the first official photos of its Q7 SUV today. They're not the official-official ones, which won't be out until its official unveiling in Frankfurt in September. In fact, they're kind of just sanctioned spy photos, with Audi logos blacked out, and a, frankly juvenile, attempt at disguising the taillight lens design still visible. Whatevs, guys. They also released some info on how rigorously the Q7 has been tested, climbing Pike's Peak, undergoing extreme temperatures in the Arctic Circle and the deserts of Southern Africa, bouncing down tracks of unpaved Central American roadway and — if they were really brave — steaming in rush hour on a Friday afternoon in July on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. As the Frankfurt show nears, get ready for more such "leaked" shots of cars slated to appear there.
