Confirming several months' worth of smart-money speculation, Mercedes-Benz announced it will build its redesigned, full-size luxury G-Class SUV at its plant in Vance, Alabama. The formerly boxy, military-bred SUV — which has undergone a ground-up redesign, will join the M-Class and new R-Class in production at the plant. The new model, which is said to be an entirely different animal than the current Gelaendewagen, will likely be priced in the $75,000-$100,000 range.
