According to Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe, the company will introduce a hybrid-drive pickup in an effort to cover all segments with gas-electric vehicles. Watanabe threw down a gauntlet of sorts, when he set the partially indeterminate goal of selling 1 million hybrids "as soon as possible," compared to the 134,700 hybrids the company sold in 2004. Bloomberg news speculated that Toyota's hybrid pickup could resemble its 2004 FTX concept (pictured) which is powered by a V8 hybrid.
