While we were holed up in a Swiss hotel, a Koenigsegg CCR staged a coupe (heh heh) on the McLaren F1 s sovereignty of speed. On a test track in Nardo, Italy on Feb. 28, a K-egg clocked an average speed of 241.01 mph over the 7.77-mile course, ending the F1's run as fastest production car. The McLaren had been the velocity king since 1993, when a modified F1 hit a straight-line 240.3 mph in Germany. Please, lets keep all of those latent speed/Swede puns to a Minimum; we'll do our part.
