Chrysler released images of a new, Viper-based speedster, temporarily dubbed the Chrysler Firepower. (Since Chrysler doesn't own the name, it will come up with something equally explicit in time for the Detroit Auto Show in January.) The "Firepower" will be fired up by the tweaked 6.1 liter (425/420) Hemi that will propel the upcoming 300C SRT-8. The car envisioned would be positioned above the Crossfire, and will be tuned for touring rather than raw power and handling. Kind of a dad racer for cooler-than-average dads. (Chrysler also released pics of a Jeep pickup concept too, but we don't have much use for that noise.)
